How True Storytelling’s 7 Tools of ODC 2.0 Module Can Transform Tamara-Land Networking

This Page Dives into the 7 Tools We Use in the Organizing Developing & Changing (ODC 2.0) Module that bring about effective ensemble networking. Click Here to Start with Introduction to that entire module.

Tamara is the name of a theater play. We are all in the theatre of everyday life.

William Shakespeare Popular Poems | Biography Online

Tamara-Land is the networking we do every day in our work lives. We chase stories from room to room. We can only be in one room at a time. So our understanding communication depends on what rooms everyone was in BEFORE.

These 7 tools of ODC 2.0 help improve interactive communication in organizations and between them, by doing experiential networking training. We call it ICEND.

We do training in ICEND (Interactive, Communicative, Experiential, Networking Developing so the Organizing, Developing, and Changing moves out of Single Loop Loop (one logic imposed on all), into Double Loop Learning (retrospective-prospective sensemaking of effective open systems), and this makes possible Triple Loop of active reflection the Tamara-Land Networking.

We train in the system networking tools to make Tamara-Land able to engage the potential for Triple Loop Learning. The 7 Tools work together. One does not work well without the others.

7 Tools that improve the networking of any organization to get to Ensemble Storytelling and Ensemble Leadership
1Nominal Group Technique (NGT);
Ken Long’s NGT video, and the spreadsheet to calculate NGT rankings. This gets us in to Ensemble Process of Single Loop using the experiential exercise, “Team From Hell”: Step 1: before meeting, before talking, each person write down a list: What are 7 things that drive you crazy about team work?
Step 2: Share the lists, and rank as a new team, what are the top 5. Share horror stories about each person’s experence with Teams From Hell.
Step 3: Come up with a way to address each of the top 5. This can be norms that the group will enforce, giving permission to call each other out if there are norm violations, punishments that will happen (these can involve ways to make it up to the offended team members by the offending member), etc.
2Talking Stick for ICEND (Interactive, Communicative, Experiential, Networking Developing A Talking Stick promotes listening. This begins the process of ensemble network, so we can begin to make Single Loop a bit healthier and more effective
3Tamara-Land Storyboarding all the rooms with storytelling happening at same time, in different places. Now we have arrived at the dynamic ensemble networking that engages Double Loop
4ICEND Fractal Pattern Types. We call it the SpaceTimeMattering of Tamara-Land Mattering so we can stabilize Double Loop
5PSL2 Problem Solving Learning & Leading in groups to move beyond usual games people play everyday in Single Loop. By learning the games, we know how to deal with them in a convivial manner, so Double Loop Ensemble Storytelling can be sustained.
6Episodic Conflict keeps escalating unless conflict resolution processes are in place. That is what Double Loop is all about. To get to Triple Loop ensemble processes we need something more embodied in our reflection
7Triple DPIE Tool (DPIE stands for Diagnosis, Project planning, Implementaiton of project, and Evaluation of results). Triple means DPI done three cycles to form a spiral of momentum of change. Socioeconomic tools with special True Storytelling usages – (Note: This is introduction in ODC 2.0, precursor to an ODC 3.0 Module on Triple Loop). Here we focus just on the Triple Loop DPIE tool, in the context of Ensemble Storytelling and Ensemble Leadership to bring about harmonious intelligent collective networking outcomes, by engaging several projects implemented that establish an Agile, yet Resilient ODC 2.0.

We make choices in each room, which identity to be.

The Russian Dolls Nest one inside the other. We show one identity at a time in storytelling conversations.

In Tamara-Land, what voice are we using?

Is it the voice of playing a role?

Is it the voiceless bystander?

Polyphony means different voices we choose in our conversational storytelling in Tamara-Land Networks

Polyphony is one of 5 dialogisms that interplay in day to day networking of any organization?

We began our True Storytelling journey, with the Foundation Ethics Module. Next, we took the ODC 2.0 journey to begin about Triple Loop systems. This we believe, is requisite to moving out of compliance-for-insurance-purposes DEI 1.0 to a DIE (2.0) that actually has diversity as the working ensemble networking for intelligent collective action. We believe this combination of ODC 2.0 with DEI 2.0 is necessary to have a new kind of theater of organizing in place. This is the destination of our journey: True Storytelling in ‘Sustainability Theater’ where we empty out the greenwashing, bluewashing, and yes, the whitewashing, to actually implement projects bringing about the UN 17 Sustainability goals

Diversity Equity Inclusion (2.0)

It takes an understanding of ODC 2.0 to create a foundation of networking developing ICEND, so that DEI 2.0 actually brings people together. We do this by training in True Storytelling Conversations

It is how we do training
